Take On A Festive Fundraiser This Winter

'Tis the season of giving and we’ve pulled together some festive fundraising ideas for you to help raise funds for your favourite charity this Christmas. Get into the holiday spirit by taking on any of the fundraising activities listed below. Don’t forget to set up your free fundraising page using Give as you Live Donate for your friends and family to show their support; it’s easy to set up in 3 simple steps and won’t cost you a penny!

1. Virtual Trek

Trek your way - virtually - to the North Pole. Choose from 3 difficulty levels and complete your challenge by Christmas Eve. Track your progress by linking your Strava account to your Fundraising Page. Ask your family, friends, or colleagues to sponsor your challenge and raise donations this holiday season.

2. Gift of a Year

Pledge your support in 2022 to help build a better and brighter future. Set up a gift for the year to support those in need. Just £10 a month will mean the world and could change the future for others.

3. Make Your Gift Count

You can make your gift really count this Christmas by switching gifts for donations. Every single heartfelt donation will help to support those who desperately need our service over the festive season.

4. ‘No’vember

Say ‘No’ to something you love throughout November. This can be anything from giving up your favourite treats to not using social media, the choices are endless…

5. Santa Run

Grab your Santa hat and take on a 5k run in your local area. Either join an organised event or take on the challenge in your own time. Share your progress with family and friends linking your Strava account to your Fundraising Page.

6. Winter Cycle Challenge

Pedal your way to donations with a cycling challenge, such as London to Brighton, or create your own journey. Track your challenge through Strava and share your progress with your family and friends.

7. 12 Days of Christmas Challenge

Take part in an activity for 12 consecutive days such as walking, running, cycling or swimming a set distance each day. Share your progress with friends and family with updates to your Fundraising Page. For something non-physical, you could bake a tasty treat every day as another way to raise donations.

8. Polar Plunge

Take the plunge into icy cold waters to raise donations. Search for an organised event in your local area to ensure safety measures are put in place. Why not get a friend to livestream your challenge, which can be linked to your Fundraising Page for your family and friends to watch?

9. Christmas Jumper Day

A fun way for everyone in your workplace, office, or school community to get involved. Get everyone to wear their jazziest Christmas jumper on 10th December and make a donation to support those in need.

10. Festive Quiz

Host a quiz with your friends, family, or colleagues either in-person or virtually, collecting donations as entry fees. Livestreaming is the perfect way to get several people involved - for more information on how to set this up check out our Go Live hub.

11. Christmas Movie Marathon

Everyone loves a good Christmas movie; raise donations by doing a 12-hour marathon watching your favourite festive films all in one sitting.

12. Christmas Carol Service Appeal

Support your local church’s Christmas Carol Service Appeal by making a direct donation.

Did you know? If you're taking part in a physical fundraiser you can link your Strava account to your Fundraising Page. Fundraisers who track their walk, run, or cycle activity on a fitness app and share updates to their supporters raise MORE money. It’s super easy to set up and free! Find out more.
