MS Awareness Week - Hydrotherapy

It is MS Awareness Week from Monday 25 April to Sunday 1 May and we would like your help to raise £1,000 across the week!

By supporting us you will help us to update equipment parts and top up the ever-increasing electricity costs of running our Hydrotherapy Suite at the Centre.

Our MS members who use our hydrotherapy pool find that it helps to manage the symptoms of the condition and keep them as fit as possible.

There are very few pools like ours in Kent that provide Hydrotherapy.

So, what is Hydrotherapy? Hydrotherapy involves carrying out exercises and specific physiotherapy techniques in warm water to help relieve pain, relax and strengthen muscles, increase circulation, improve function and is particularly helpful for people living with conditions like MS.

How can hydrotherapy help?

- Temporary pain relief

- Better mobility

- More fluidity and control over movements

- Better balance and eye co-ordination

- Improved posture and walking

- Strengthening weakened muscles

- Making limbs feel lighter and easing swelling

Our hydrotherapy pool has wheelchair access, with a hoist to help you get in and out of the water safely and we have two large wheelchair friendly changing rooms that include a shower, toilet, basin, bench and plenty of space to get changed.
