Imran Khan Flood Relief Fund
Charity number: 1137997
Description:
The purpose of the Imran Khan Relief Fund (?IKRF?) Charity is to use the funds to relieve the suffering of those people who have been impacted by the floods in Pakistan, estimated at more than 20 million.
People have lost their homes and livelihoods and the infrastructure has also been destroyed which includes roads, bridges and buildings.
This is a massive human tragedy.
Imran Khan Relief fund has a short term, medium term and a long term plan to rebuild the lives of the flood victims.
In the short term IKRF is providing immediate relief to the flood victims in the form of food, shelter (tents) and health care, this is an ongoing process as the relief camps require a constant flow of supplies for the displaced people.
The medium and long term plans include the process of rehabilitation of the victims. IKRF will resettle the people by reconstructing their homes and by providing the people with sustainable means of earning their livelihoods.
IKRF has announced the renovation and construction of more than 80 houses at Visalabad near Risalpur. This will be the first phase of the project where more than 500 houses will be constructed and renovated in the next phase.
The rebuilding work will be based on building 100 model villages for the flood affectees. Each model village will have schools for boys and girls and a hospital besides other facilities including a proper sewerage system. Each village will have a proper infrastructure and facilities.
Imran Khan is also encouraging the other social welfare organisations to follow this example of adopting a model village and reconstruction.
In the UK there are zero administration costs for the Imran Khan Flood Relief Charity as all people working towards this cause are volunteers.
