45km for Legs4Afrcia

On behalf of Legs4Africa, WAMS are encouraging their members to walk 45km in the month of November in dedication to the 4,500 people in The Gambia in need of a prosthetic leg.

In The Gambia there is an amputation every 3.5 days, and most individuals who experience this are unable to access support needed to cope with the challenges and trauma of limb loss.

Legs4Africa are a charity who recycle prosthetic legs that would otherwise go to landfill and send them to sub-Saharan Africa, getting people to walk again. They also focus on community engagement and rehabilitation.

100% donations will go to Legs4Africa after the event.

This fundraiser is part of a campaign called Leg Up meaning that all donations will be doubled.
