Amputee Football World Cup 2022

Hi everyone,

For those that are not aware I have recently started a voluntary role for the England Amputee Football Association. The squad are currently in training and working towards the dream of representing their country at the world cup in Turkey later this year.

EAFA is a registered charity, and the team is one of our national football teams. We receive no funding for the impressive professional set up that the staff have put together, so rely heavily on fundraising to enable the programme to continue and the team to compete. Despite this, the team finished 2nd in the European Championships in 2017, being beaten by Turkey in the final who have the backing of a fully funded programme. Staff and players travel from up and down the county to represent their country, and follow an elite level programme on a voluntary basis around their full time jobs.

I am asking for donations to help the programme continue and to fund vital things for the team such as specialist equipment, travel and venue hire. Any amount, no matter how big or small, would be massively beneficial in helping us reach our fundraising target and allowing the players to continue working towards their world cup dream!
