Atkins Team 3 - Heathrow Midnight Marathon

On 1st October, a team from Atkins will be attempting to run a combined marathon up and down the Heathrow runway! We are raising money for a great cause: The Heathrow Community Trust.

The Heathrow Community Trust (HTC) is an independent charity that supports local communities and vulnerable people near Heathrow. They support projects to improve the lives of young people, tackle unemployment, build environmentally sustainable communities, and much more!

One example of a HCT project has been the funding of the Emerge initiative run by The East-to-West Trust, which supports young people admitted to A&E departments due to self-harm injury or attempted suicide. HCT and the Trust were able to support volunteers working three nights a week for two years, helping over 150 people. It has since expanded its provision to give assistance to these young people once they've left hospital.

From an Atkins perspective, this is also a great opportunity to collaborate with one of our clients and strengthen our relationship by making a meaningful charitable contribution to one of their key social value initiatives.
