Our story

We have recently had a delivery of 1500 tons of sand and gravel from nearby dredging work.

This is courtesy of the Canals and Rivers Trust

This unplanned gift is a great opportunity for us to make various improvements on the island such as reshape slip ways, reshape banks and create reinforced bases for planned structures such as a new toilet block.

Given the limited time we have before the winter floods threaten to wash away much oif this material we need to move fast to purchase basic materials to take advantage of this gift.

Because of the short time frame there is no time to apply for grants, and we wnat to avoid dipping into our funds which are committed to rebuildiung our Lilac Grove headquarters.

Materials we need to purchase include:

Bags of cement

Reinfoced ground mesh

Shuttering for making form work for casting concrete

Steel mesh for reinforced concrete

If you are able to gift any of these materials please get in touch: fundraising@2ndbeeston.org.uk
