St. Stephen's fundraising bike ride for Bamenda Seminarian Fund

Event date: 1st May 2019

Ian Bray is raising money for Parish of St Peter & The Winchester Martyrs

My story

One of our parish churches, St. Stephen's in Olivers Battery Road North, Winchester is planning a programme of worship and community events to celebrate its 50th anniversary this May. As part of this programme, on 1st May our parish priest Fr. Mark Hogan and a group of fellow cycling parishioners are making a sponsored bike ride from Winchester to Salisbury and back.

Funds raised will be used to help a seminarian in our twin diocese of Bamenda in Cameroon complete his training despite the difficulties currently caused by civil unrest in the country. Your donations to support this initiative would be greatly appreciated.

  • UPDATE *

Fr. Mark and ten other cyclists from the parish successfully completed the bike ride from St. Stephen's Church to Salisbury Cathedral and back on 1st May and were blessed with fine weather and a safe return home!

A big thank you to all who have donated so generously to this appeal. If anyone has not yet donated but would still like to do so, this fundraising page will remain open until 31st May.
