Remembering Carole

Mary Greaves is raising money for Northumbria Blood Bikes

My story

I’ve set myself a challenge of completing the Lairig Ghru across the Cairngorms in the summer. 20 miles of mountain trails and river beds! My challenge starts in January to get into training and not let the side down!
Given the chance, my dear friend Carole would have been right there with me on this mad adventure, sadly she passed away too soon, but Steven and I will give it our best shot in memory of Carole Evelyn Snee, and with your help raise some vital funds for Northumbria Blood Bikes, a cause very close to her heart. Every penny raised will go towards supporting this invaluable service in the north east, who in turn support the network of Blood Bikes around the country with their relay deliveries.

Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Northumbria Blood Bikes.

Afternoon Walk

Walk along the old Logging Road from Aviemore to Glenmore. A damp drizzly walk but mild temperature made a dip in Loch Morlich all the more inviting to the dogs.

Rochdale Canal, Hebden Bridge to Salterhebble Hill

A lovely walk along the Rochdale Canal Towpath, starting at Copley, through Sowerby Bridge to Hebden Bridge then back to Salterhebble Hill at the end of the towpath before returning to Copley. Not the route we planned but more suited to the high temperature! Not quite as far as planned but far enough on such a hot day. Don’t think we’ll experience 30 degrees in the Cairngorms! Only two weeks to go.

Sunday dog walk

One of my usual walks today, although I haven’t done it for a few months! A little overgrown with ferns, nettles and brambles in places, but plenty spots for a cooling dip!

Eccup Reservoir & Harewood Loop

Lovely walk around Eccup until we reached the dam road which they’d closed so detour needed. Walking along the verge of the A61 Harrogate Road isn’t fun! Eventually reached Harewood Estate and back to tracks. Found the lovely Muddy Boots Cafe in Harewood Village then on through the estate grounds. A few missed turnings but found the track back to Eccup and the car!
