Our story

This festive season we are inviting you to get your friends, family, or colleagues together and share your favourite seasonal puddings for #DessertsforDEBRA.

From mince pies to a yule log, Christmas puddings to chocolate mousse – we are asking you to get making and raise vital funds to help us #StopthePain for people living with EB.

There are at least 5,000 people living in the UK with EB, an excruciatingly painful genetic skin condition that causes the skin to tear or blister at the slightest touch.

Many people do not know that EB can cause severe blistering of the throat and down the oesophagus, making something simple like eating agonisingly painful.

“When I was sixteen, I started developing severe blistering in my throat. Swallowing food can feel like eating razor blades.”

Why Desserts

Desserts are inclusive for people living with internal blistering on their throat, as they are smooth and easier to swallow than solid foods.

We are looking forward to everyone being able to come together this December to share their favourite festive desserts and help bring us closer to future Christmases where no one must suffer from EB.
