Katherine Marcinski is raising money for Willow Project

My story

So a few months ago Rob and I decided to bite the bullet and get fit (surprising how having a baby can change your mentality about life!). So we are running the Stafford 10k and (even more surprisingly) having accepted a challenge during a well- being week at his work, Rob is also running the Manchester Half Marathon (that escalated quickly!!!).

For those of you who know Rob and I, you will know what a challenge this is, especially for Rob who up until 16 weeks ago couldn?t run a bath!!!

We decided to use this opportunity and spur ourselves on by raising money for cause that we both feel passionately about.

The Willow Project charity provides 6-19 year olds (and their parents/ carers) with a confidential counselling service, enabling them to make positive choices and reach their full potential. The service can be accessed to talk about lots of different issues including; relationship issues, self-harm, bereavement, mental health, domestic violence, and emotional issues. They provide free counselling across the Wigan Borough in a variety of settings including primary schools, high schools, colleges, youth centres and at their main office in Atherton as well as running a weekly therapeutic group. They provide a safe, private setting, allowing for discussion and exploration of any problems or difficulties people may be faced with.

All money raised will ensure this vital service continues, without this vulnerable young people would not access the support they need.

Thank you for reading our story and we greatly appreciate any donations made.

Kat and Rob.
