Raising funds for Etchingham Playgrounds

Colin Boylett is raising money for Etchingham Recreation Ground (Queen's Garden) Trust

My story

Raising funds for Etchingham Recreation Ground (Queen's Garden) Trust [ERGT] to repair and replace playground equipment in Queen's Garden.

The current target is £25,000

Etchingham has two children's playgrounds, a safety inspection identified safety issues with some of the equipment in both areas, which had to be taken out of use.
The Parish Council and CIC have repaired equipment on the Viper Site and funded replacement of some items in Queen's Garden, but Council funds are limited, so further funding will be needed to replace more items.
Some fund raising activities are taking place, we would like to get all the equipment repaired or replaced as quickly as possible, so any donations, no matter how small will be greatly appreciated.

The Etchingham Recreation Ground (Queen's Garden) Trust [ERGT] Registered Charity No. 1093289 was established in 2002 in Etchingham, East Sussex to manage the piece of land, known as Queens Garden, the Parish Council is the Trustee Body for the charity. Queen's Garden was created as a village recreation area and children's playground in 1953, as part of the Coronation celebrations.

More recently, the Viper Play Area on Station Approach which was established by the village youth group, was passed to the village when the youth group ceased operation and is now under the management of ERGT.

The playground equipment in Queen's Garden has been maintained and upgraded a few times over the years. The current play equipment was installed in 2003, some of that equipment has now reached the end of its safe usable life.

A safe area for children to play in is an essential element of village life. Village children get a lot of use and enjoyment from using the playgrounds especially at weekends and throughout the summer school holidays.
Parish Council can provide some funding, but funds are very limited, and the Council will not be able to cover all the replacement costs.
Every donation, no matter how small, will get us closer to the target.
