Goggins 4x4x48 Challenge
Event dates: 6th March 2021 – 8th March 2021
Vince Sutton is raising money for East Midlands Dog Rescue
My story
I have decided to take part in the 2nd annual David Goggins challenge on March 6th and 7th 2021 where I will be raising funds for East Midlands Dog Rescue and would appreciate your support :)
The challenge is to run 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours. This will be a total of 48 miles which will be completed on what I expect to be very little sleep. If you are not sure who David Goggins is please google him. David is an incredible individual who amongst other things is an ex Navy Seal and endurance athlete. I'm sure for him this will be a walk in the park but I expect my experience to be very different lol.
if you follow me on Facebook or Instagram you will know how much Jolie and Winnie mean to us. They both had awful starts to their lives but thanks to the lovely people at the rescue they are now safe and spoilt rotten. I would love to raise some funds for the rescue during this difficult time. Obviously this is a tough time but anything you can spare would be greatly appreciated.
Much Love
Vince

4x4x48 Challenge 2021 completed.
Run 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours and I can honestly say that I ran every single step of those 48 miles. It was the hardest thing I've ever done but it's amazing what your body and mind can do when you push them.
When I decided to do this it was for a number of reasons. We had just gone in to another lockdown and like so many people this one has hit me the hardest. The idea of knowing I could challenge myself and raise some money for EMDR at the same time would give me something to focus on.
I knew it would be difficult but to be honest the gravity of the challenge didn't hit home until I was going out at 4am Sunday morning on little sleep feeling like crap with my legs burning. The Sunday runs were brutal but I did it and I'm super proud of myself.
Not only am I proud of myself but I'm genuinely blown away by the support that I received over the weekend in the way of donations and messages. You lot are absolutely incredible and I'm not ashamed to say I have a tear in my eye as I'm typing this. Thankyou so much I can't tell you how much it helped me get through each mile.
The other thing that helped me through each mile are those 2 little monsters in the photo and thinking about how the money we've raised is going to the wonderful people at East Midlands Dog Rescue who saved Jolie and Winnie from an awful situation. They bring us joy every single day and for that I will be forever thankful.
I don't know how much I expected to raise but it wasn't close to this. The current total is £1082 plus gift aid and the donations are still coming in. I'll leave the link open for a few days....please share and let's try and drive the total even higher.
Again thank you :) (I promise no more Strava maps for a few days 🤣)
