Gucci needs your help, Greek Animal Rescue

GUCCI
Gucci is just the most adorable guy, not just handsome, but also has the most placid, loving personality. He is kinda nervous, and jumpy, but that?s okay, he has a right to be, life has been hard for him.
He was rescued from the streets of Greece, in the winter of 2015, emaciated, and starving. We think he had a family, because he was wearing a collar and he is a Segugio Italiano, breed. But, like so many dogs in Greece, he had been dumped by his family. Who knows why????
He was rescued by Dora, and once he had been checked by a vet he was found a place in a shelter with a view to getting him adopted. However, for this, he had to wait a long 15 months??
Shelter life is debilitating for all dogs, particulary dogs like Gucci who start their life in the shelter already scared and nervous.
Finally his time came, Gucci was adopted in the UK in the spring of this year. Everyone was aware of just how nervous and jumpy he was, and his new family were advised to let him adjust to life in the UK, the noises, smells etc and that it was better not to walk him until he had done so.
After just a few days, they took Gucci out for a walk, near to a busy road, and disaster struck. Gucci panicked, slipped his single lead and ran straight out into the road. Result???Gucci had to have his front leg amputated.
Diane Chapman took over his care, and with her support and love Gucci recovered quickly, and adjusted to walking with his 3 legs.
Two weeks ago Gucci started having problems walking, his back legs seemed to be ?slipping? and after visiting the vet, Gucci was diagnosed with ?bi-lateral luxating patellas? sometimes known as Trick Knee. This means that Gucci?s knee caps slip out of their normal position, causing pain and disability.
Options ---- Two more operations, one leg done at a time.
Poor Gucci, what a way to start your ?new ? life. Diane is going to keep Gucci now, he has learned to trust her, despite the pain and difficulties he has had to overcome and with more to face.
Secondary to Guccis welfare is the tremendous cost that has to be met. These operations with the amputation will cost in excess of £5000.
