Help Paws2Rescue build a new sanctuary in Romania

Alison Standbridge is raising money for Paws2Rescue

My story

I rarely walk too far, but the dogs need our help, so I am dusting off very old trainers and getting ready to walk my 20k - although over a few days probably. Please donate and help Paws2Rescue to build a desperately needed sanctuary in Romania. The lives of strays are so heartbreakingly lonely and dangerous, the dogs in kill shelters are totally broken, and Paws2Rescue need to keep helping them. Please donate a tiny amount to spur me on to my 20k and to help Paws2Rescue build a safer future. Thank you.

Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Paws2Rescue.

My updates

16th May (it has taken me that long to recover!!!) and I walked my final 7km and hit my total of 100km. A huge target for me to reach and if it ever stops raining, I might even keep up some of my walking too. A massive thank you to every person who has donated!

Saturday May 8th. A horrible horrible 5km in the wind and drizzly rain. Once again, I walked to do my food shopping (I should have learned better from last time!) Armed with bags and a rucksack I happily left home - new pink trainers helping me of course. The second half of the walk not so fun, the shopping weighed a ton - I am sure my husband put large oranges on the list on purpose! Huffing and puffing I almost made it home and I must admit I did whatsapp hubby for a lift (only to be ignored!). I slowly made it up the hill home, wishing I didn't live on top of a hill, and vowing not to walk to do food shopping again for a while! After a quick cuppa at home, I took the dogs out for a short walk although I did this after my 5km and I did not include it. I have now walked 88km only 12 km to go to reach my target - never did I dream I would walk this far! Thank you all who are sponsoring me too - it really is a huge help and it keeps me going.

I have walked 78km from my target of 100km in 12 walks.
78km I would not have otherwise walked! Please donate even £1, it really does add up! I am taking a week off walking to let my foot heal a bit and will carry on next weekend. Only 22km to go! Please keep donating to help Paws2Rescue build the sanctuary.

Saturday 1st May. Walk 12 and I went to Tooting for a change. I have not been there for ages and I wanted to look at material shops, so took off early in the morning and in the sunshine. Popped into an Aldi shop for the first time ever too! So another first! I walked another 8km. Total of 78km but I cant walk again until next weekend as I need to let my foot recover. Tomorrow, I am going to mum's and we will have a short walk, but I won't add it to my 100km target as it will only be 3km and my foot hurts still. It would be lovely to even receive a donation of £1 if anyone can spare that. It really does encourage people to keep walking too. Thanks all for your support, especially Chris R who is feeling the long distance too!

Walk 11 and in the cloudy week, I went to visit my lovely local Big Yellow Self Storage. This company has been so supportive of Paws2Rescue and I was looking forward to walking this 6km around the floors! However it got a tiny bit boring after a short time and walking round each corridor of each floor for over an hour wasn't my idea of fun, but this is for the dogs, so I carried on. I have now walked 70km and foot is hurting quite alot - and really do need to get new trainers as I am hobbling again.
