Jenny and Rob's Virtual Marathon

Event date: 4th October 2020

Rob Mangles is raising money for The Stable Family Home Trust

My story

Jenny Pettett and Rob Mangles will be completing a Sunday morning warm up at 745am for people to be ready for their virtual marathon.

They are then going to complete the distance by going from Barton-on-Sea to Weymouth.

Please support them by donating funds to the Stables Family Homes Trust. A charity that they provide fitness classes too each week to keep vulnerable adults fit and active:

STABLE FAMILY HOME TRUST

Supporting people with learning disabilities

SFHT LAUNCHES EMERGENCY CORONAVIRUS APPEAL

Coronavirus is effecting us all and we need your help more than ever.

SFHT are launching an urgent fundraising appeal to help cover costs over the coming months to continue caring for the vulnerable people we support with learning disabilities. The financial impact of this coronavirus is significant as we rely on fundraising support from donors, businesses, community clubs and individuals throughout the year. Our running costs alone are in excess of £400,000 and without this help we will struggle to maintain services and urgently need to replace this income to ensure we can continue our vital services to the people we support.

Donate through Give as you Live Donate

The temporary closure of our Aspire Day Services, additional staffing costs and loss of vital fundraising streams due to Covid-19 means we now need your help more than ever.

It is often assumed that adults with a learning disability are ‘looked after’ by the government. It is true that some of our services are partly funded by our clients’ own income which derives from their local authority funding, but this just covers a small proportion of our costs. Additional staffing hours are crucial during this crisis and we urgently need to fund them.

It is the toughest time we have faced as a charity and our dedicated staff care team are critical in providing support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in our supported living homes. They are not only keeping our most vulnerable people safe and well but also supporting people emotionally as well as physically.

As a charity we are doing all we can to reduce the impact, and seeking support mechanisms wherever available but this is a heartfelt plea for your help.

Please give as generously as you can today. Any donation you can give will help keep our vital services going over the next few months and will help cover 24 hour support in our homes, PPE equipment, additional administration and an adjustment for the loss of income from our day services while they remain closed.

£100 helps to buy 1 day’s support

£200 helps to buy 2 day’s support

£500 helps to buy 1 week’s support

£1,000 helps to buy 2 week’s support

£4,000 helps to buy 2 month’s support

Even a donation of £30 will help pay for additional Personal Protective Equipment and essentials within our homes.

If you are a UK taxpayer, don’t forget to tick the Gift Aid box when prompted, which means we can claim an extra 25p for every £1 you donate, at no cost to you.

If you are unable to make a donation at this time we totally understand, and are so grateful for your support.

If you are able to make a donation – thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
