Leigh runs two half marathons...

I'm running two half marathons (Royal Parks, quite cool; Basingstoke, less cool) on consecutive Sundays for South London Cares.

South London Cares is a charity that encourages young professionals to spend time with older neighbours, helping to tackle isolation.

London is constantly evolving but many older people, who have lived in the City for much of their lives, are increasingly isolated.

Through social clubs and the Love Your Neighbour project, South London Cares brings together young professionals and older members of the South London community.

South London Cares' programmes seek to:

• Provide extra help for isolated neighbours by building trusted local support networks

• Create opportunities for people to share time, skills, stories, cultural exchange and friendship

• Facilitate a resurgence of neighbourliness

• Make it simple, quick and hassle free for young professionals to get to know their older neighbours
