100 Miles in May

Hello Guys!

This May I am going to run, walk & Cycle 100 Miles for two Charities close to my heart. Melanoma Focus & SKCIN.

May is Melanoma Awareness Month.

Skin cancer is the UK’s most common and fastest rising cancer

Malignant melanoma is one of the most common cancers in young adults (aged 15-34) in the UK

More people die from skin cancer in the UK than Australia

My personal experience with Melanoma has taught me how important is it to look after & check skin regularly. Something as easy as taking photo of an area of skin that you feel looks unusual and then forwarding this on to your GP for them to evaluate, it is a simple but effective measure.

Melanoma focus commission and fund innovate melanoma research, they also provide support as well as a help line for patients, careers and professionals.

Skcin raises awareness of skin cancer through promoting prevention and early detection methods whilst campaigning for change to save life's.

This awful disease sadly takes the life's of so many people, I hope by taking part in this challenge I can raise vital funds for these amazing charities and their important work. I also hope my contribution will further raise awareness and encourage others to regularly check their SKIN too.
