Remembering Lily

Charlotte Gilbert is raising money for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and Demelza Hospice Care for Children

My story

Lily was diagnosed with leukeamia in October 2020. After a courageous, determined fight with the disease, she died on 11th September 2022, having just celebrated her eighteenth birthday. In Lily's memory, we are supporting two charities that played a central role in her treatment and care and continue to offer hope and support to children and young adults affected by cancer: The Royal Marsden, which led Lily's treatment and Demelza children's hospice, which ensured Lily was able to spend her final days at home with her family around her.

A donation to the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity will support vital research into childhood cancer and leukeamia, helping to fund trials of treatments that aim to improve outcomes for children and young people. Research has already made a significant impact on survival rates and in Lily's memory we would like to support this vital work.

A donation to Demelza will help ensure other children and young people receive specialised and compassionate end of life care from a wonderful team of nurses.
