My story

I'm seeking 26 generous donors to support DEBRA UK and sponsor 1-mile (or more) by making a £75 donation per mile ($90).

On April 23, 2023 I'm running the London Marathon to support DEBRA UK - the butterfly skin charity.

DEBRA UK is a national charity supporting 3,000+ members, which includes people living with EB, relatives, partners, or carers of someone with EB, healthcare professionals and researchers who work with EB. Epidermolysis Bullosa, or EB, is a rare genetic connective tissue disorder - the prominent symptom of extremely fragile skin 'like a butterflies wing' that blisters and tears from minor friction or trauma.

There is no treatment or cure, but researchers are making tremendous strides in developing therapies. The current standard of care is supportive, which includes daily wound care, pain management, and protective bandaging.

In a personal quest to run 50 Marathons by age 50 and the 6 Abbott World Marathon Majors; The London Marathon is one of the largest and most prominent in the globe. To date, I've completed 8 Marathons including 3 World Majors - New York City, Chicago, & Berlin with London (2023), Tokyo and Boston remaining.

The world-famous London Marathon route has remained largely unchanged since the inaugural race in 1981 and encompasses many of the capital’s most mesmerizing landmarks, old and new.

Following along with my Strava training in pursuit of running a goal time of 3:20
