Mid Life Mission - £40k for Uzima

I'm 40 this year! I'm not having a mid-life crisis, I'm on a mid-life mission!
I want my life to count, I want to make a difference, not for my own fame or glory, but to be a blessing to others.

In my 40th year one of the things I'd like to do is raise £40,000 for a great cause. I know it's a large amount but I believe in the inherent goodness and generosity of human beings so we'll see what happens!

I've chosen to raise money for a small charity called Uzima that makes a big difference in the lives of poor children in rural Western Kenya. My family support the charity through the child sponsorship program. Through the work of the Uzima Orphan and Day Care Centre children receive food, clothing, an education and access to medical care. 'Uzima' is Swahili for 'life and hope'.
