Derry Marathon - 26.2 for Pathfinder Dogs

Event date: 31st May 2015

antrimbadger is raising money for Pathfinder Guide Dog Programme

My story

Running blind for Pathfinder Dogs.

On May 31st 2015, I will run 26.2 miles as part of the Derry/Londonderry 'Walled City' Marathon - my first ever marathon. I started running with the 'Couch 2 5k' programme in January 2014, and have completed 5k, 10k, 5 mile and Half Marathon distances. To make things more difficult for my coaches, I run blind - I am partner to Pathfinder Dog 'Kambo'. My guide runner is loosely attached to me by a short wrist strap, and guides me both verbally and by means of the strap. Believe me, it is no easy task, and one we put a lot of effort into!
26.2 long miles, without being able to see where I am, or how far I have still to go. Every step of the way will be for Pathfinder Dogs.

I have already signed up for the race, there is no cost to Pathfinder Dogs; everything I raise goes to the charity to help someone else. Will YOU help, with a donation?

Why not follow my journey to 26.2? This is my training blog: antrimbadger.wordpress.com
