Paul and Annie are raising money for IntoUniversity, The Sutton Trust, Advocate and The Access To Justice Foundation
To our family and friends,
Thank you for taking the time to read about our chosen charities. Instead of wedding presents, we would be very grateful for a donation supporting the Brick Court Chambers centenary charity project, which aims to raise £250,000 in 2021 for four charities; IntoUniversity (40%), The Sutton Trust (40%), The Access to Justice Foundation (10%) and Advocate (10%). The charities are described below.
Brick Court Chambers is where Paul started as a pupil barrister in 1979, staying there for most of his working life until becoming a judge in 2004. He has now returned there as an arbitrator after retiring from the bench in 2019.
All good wishes,
Annie and Paul
IntoUniversity
IntoUniversity is an award-winning charity that runs local learning centres which provide an education programme that addresses underachievement and social exclusion. We target children and young people most at risk of failing to meet their potential to go to university due to economic, social, cultural, or linguistic disadvantage. IntoUniversity provides practical learning support and motivational and confidence-building activities for children and young people aged 7-18. We currently have 25 centres across England.
The Sutton Trust
The Sutton Trust was founded in 1997 by Sir Peter Lampl to improve social mobility through education. As well as being a think-tank, the Sutton Trust is a ‘do-tank,’ having funded over 200 programmes, commissioned over 160 research studies and influenced Government education policy by pushing social mobility to the top of the political agenda.
The Access to Justice Foundation
The Access to Justice Foundation was set up by the legal profession. We are the only national charity solely focused on funding and supporting access to justice. The Foundation give grants to advice agencies across the country that provide legal advice on a range of issues.
Advocate
Advocate matches volunteer barristers willing to give their time pro bono with members of the public who have deserving cases and cannot afford to pay for help or qualify for legal aid.
Thank you for checking out our page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto IntoUniversity, The Sutton Trust, Advocate and The Access To Justice Foundation.
