Terry Rowell is raising money for Woodland Trust
Event dates: 22nd March 2013 – 31st December 2020
You have probably arrived at this page from www.philipclissett.co.uk, the website about the life and work of Philip Clissett the Herefordshire chairmaker. Philip's work depended on local woodlands managed in traditional ways to produce ash poles. Huge areas of such woodlands have been lost in the UK, and the Woodland Trust exists to help reverse those losses.
The Woodland Trust is the UK's leading charity championing native woods and trees. It has 300,000 members and supporters and three key aims:
* To enable the creation of more native woods and places rich in trees;
* To protect native woods, trees and their wildlife for the future;
* To inspire everyone to enjoy and value woods and trees.
Established in 1972, the Woodland Trust now has over 1,000 woods in its care covering approximately 20,000 hectares (50,000 acres). Access to all Woodland Trust sites is free.
