Ramble 4 Rob

Event date: 9th July 2022

Sian, Rich, Lee, DB, Rhys & Helen are raising money for Leeds Hospitals Charity and Motor Neurone Disease Association

Our story

Following our last Ramble 4 Rob in December 2020 where we raised over £5,000 for the MND Association, we have decided to challenge ourselves to Ramble 4 Rob Mark 2 as inspired by Rob Burrow MBE*, to help raise much needed pennies for two charities which support raising awareness and supporting those living with MND.

Our challenge will see us go from ''Sky to Sea'' as we aim to walk the Welsh 3000s** on Saturday 9th July in under 20 hours. We are aiming to hit 13 of the 15 peaks (unfortunately due to the skill required for 2 of them we have had to discount them from the challenge - it's a step too far!).
Of course the highest peak will be Snowdon which is classed as one of the National Three Peaks with height of 3,560 ft.
They say this challenge within 24 hours is brutal and as we are losing two peaks from the plan, we have chosen to aim for less than 20 hours!

**Welsh 3000s are the 15 mountains in Wales with a height over 3,000 feet (914.4 m).

Our route:-
Peak 1 – Snowdon 3560ft
Peak 2 - Garnedd Ugain 3494ft
Peak 3 - Elidir Fawr 3031ft
Peak 4 - Y Garn 3106ft
Peak 5 - Glyder Fawr 3284ft
Peak 6 - Glyder Fach 3261ft
Peak 7 – Tryfan 3011ft
Peak 8 - Pen Yr Ole Wen 3208ft
Peak 9 - Carnedd Dafydd 3425ft
Peak 10 - Carnedd Llewellyn 3490ft
Peak 11 - Foel Grach 3202ft
Peak 12 - Garnedd Uchaf (Gwenllian) 3038ft
Peak 13 - Foel Fras 3090ft

The monies raised will go directly to benefit people living with MND. Your support will be split equally between the Leeds Hospitals Charity appeal to build the Rob Burrow Centre for MND supporting people living with MND and their families, and the MND Association which funds multi-disciplinary care delivered at the Centre and others across the country, as well as research into potential treatments for the disease.

We thank you in advance for your donations and support - it is really appreciated.
