Cheadle Animal Welfare are raising money for Cheadle and District Animal Welfare Society
Last Friday night Reggie was rushed to the out of hours surgery at Lime Trees Veterinary Hospital having been attacked by 2 Husky dogs.
Reggie is only 12 weeks old and is an absolutely gorgeous tabby and white Tom kitten. He received emergency veterinary treatment and has since received further treatment from the vets at Lime Trees.
In the attack he sustained a pneumothorax which had allowed air into his chest cavity making it difficult for him to breathe. He was given oxygen, pain relief and antibiotics. The following day he was x rayed and had a scan which revealed that fluid was now in his chest cavity. Further tests showed that the fluid was infected. The next procedure was to anaesthetise him and put in a chest drain so that the cavity could be flushed out and the fluid drained away. He will be in hospital for at lease 7 days.
Reggie has youth on his side and has been coping well, but at the moment the vets cannot guarantee that the procedures will be successful. We have to try. We can't let Reggie down. He's only 12 weeks old and up until this incident he had all his life in front of him. Now his life is in the balance. All the vets and nurses at Lime Trees Veterinary Hospital will do everything they can for Reggie. He couldn't be in better hands.
The cost for helping Reggie is very high but we have to try to help him. We can't give up. He has to be given a chance.
Reggie will be extremely grateful if you donate to his veterinary care.
