My story
6th to 12th February 2022 is #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek with the theme of Let's Connect.
There are lots of ideas on the website for young people of all ages to think about what makes us feel connected in all sorts of creative and colourful ways.

Rowing Bear Force has been thinking of how she loves to connect with other rowers from around the country; the world even!
She has also been reading the book Bernie and Boatie and Listening to the Sea Shanty available on https://www.boatofhope.com/get-involved and learning about the adventures of an Atlantic Rower who is rowing all on his own as part of www.taliskerwhiskyatlanticchallenge.com which started 12th December 2022. She wonders how he and the other SOLO rowers are able to keep connected when so very far away. What do you think? It must be very lonely even if they have the sea creatures who follow them from time to time.
The book has lots of colourful pictures about this adventure and stories of how Boatie and Bernie help each other during the treacherous crossing.
Another Bear friend told her that a very special Bear is also making the voyage and helping Bernie when he finds things REALLY tough! Well, that is what Bears do isn't it - help to listen and connect when their human friend needs to talk. They must have had some good conversations as they have been away such a long time already and may not be back till March or even APRIL 2023 -- that is such a long time.
Rowing Bear Force invites other rowing bears around to ask their adults to purchase and read them the book or play the music and tell them all about the tips for life that they themselves have learned about when rowing!
Rowing Bear even has been given a picture that you too could colour in and put on your wall or the kitchen fridge!
Proceeds from the sale of the Book or music go towards the www.boatofhope.com campaign.
Any pennies donated by this GAYL site will go towards supporting young people in City of Liverpool (name of Bernie's Boat) to connect with rowing and the benefits in life it brings as well as local Samaritan Support.
