Ryedale School Annual Sponsored Walk

The school's biggest fundraising event this year takes place on Friday July 13th - the annual school walk where students and staff undertake a 13 mile walk in aid of Friends of Ryedale School.

Pupils from years 7-10 inclusive walk the route following paths and tracks on a public right of way through Howl Dale, Beadlam Rigg, Sleightholme Dale, Hold Caldron and back to school.

Last year's Fundraising Walk raised an amazing £7,580 that helped fund the school minibus for the year as well as new equipment for our Duke of Edinburgh groups, curtains for our Performing Art's department and weather equipment for the science department.

Almost inevitably it turns out to be a hot day and a real challenge for everyone taking part. However past students will often reflect that their fundraising walks are amongst the highlights of their time at the school. Walking in gorgeous countryside chatting with your friends helps overcome the tired muscles perhaps unused to taking on such distances!

Please indicate the name of the pupil you are sponsoring in the comment box so we can ensure house points are added correctly. Also new for 2018 is a gift aid tick box which allows the Friends of Ryedale School to reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that is donated.
There will be prizes and incentives for pupils to raise as much money as possible and the totals will also earn house points. Proceeds from the walk will help pay for projects in school which benefit your child/ren including the school minibus fund and new IT equipment for 2018/19.
