Sharron, Sally and Linzi Kessock swim

Event date: 25th June 2022

Linzi Betts Sharron Macpherson Sally Walsh are raising money for Àban

Our story

It always starts with an idea, (it really must stop!). Hopefully you'll all support us in our 1st outdoor non competitive swim.
The swim is up in Inverness at the end of June and we will be swimming across the Beauly firth, covering an approx distance 1200m (tidal) and the water be a refreshing 11'c + 🤦‍♀️,
Our preparation consists of less cake more swimming... (easier said than done).
Believe it or not lots of personal goals to achieve for us on this journey- From fears of dark waters and what lies beneath, to swimmimg longer distances in a wetsuit, to swimming in a straight line, to concentrate and not talk for more than 10 minutes! . We will try and make a wee blog, no promise mind, might just be a collage of photos.
All donations are going to a worthy local charities that support nature and outdoor programmes. (we've paid our own entrance fees).
All donations greatly received

Thank you for checking out our page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Àban.

The Eve of our "Big Swim" we have done the training, we have arrived, we have walked down to the swim start and like real mature adults we have abstained from alchol this evening, the struggle is real. :)
Thank you to everyone who has supported us, through donations, positive and kind encouragement and joining us on our training swims. It means so very much to us all.
A good night's sleep is required as our adventure begins in earnest at 09.30 on the morrow. Much love from Sally, Sharron and Linzi x

Tonight's final training swim before we head off to Inverness on Friday for our Kessock swim adventures. We were supported by the lovely Charlotte Keeley and Alison Fuller-Shapcott , flat, calm, clear and very warm water, but unfortunately our swim did not go without issues, very sad to report dead and dying birds 25+ in the bay, extra precautions taken by showering ourselves and kit at beach, before re-showering at home. 1.4km covered in 30 mins .. Good to go people, good to go!
