On Saturday 14th May 2022 I will be doing a tandem parachute jump at Shotton Airfield in order to raise funds for Sporting Force Veterans Charity.

I was medically discharged in 2019 after 14 years service due to PTSD. I’ve been mostly stuck at home since then and I’m still waiting for treatment which has been delayed time and again because of the Covid-19 situation.

I’m hoping to raise awareness of one of the charities who have offered to help during these difficult years.

I’ve never done a parachute jump before and those who know me, know how terrified I am of heights, but I’d like to overcome this fear and do this for a good cause.

Sporting Force is a registered charity that supports ex-service personnel. They offer them a route into civilian employment within the professional sports industry. They help veterans and their families by offering education, exercise and social events to help relieve mental health and social isolation. All the opportunities they offer are inclusive and can be adapted to meet the needs of disabled veterans.
