Skydiving for Crohns and Colitis

Event date: 18th July 2020

My story

Im jumping out of a plane on the (rescheduled penciled date of the 18th of July 2020)in Maidstone Kent to fundraise for Crohns and Colitis UK!
It is something I have always wanted to do BUT I'm petrified of the thought of it. But there is no one I'd rather face my fears for than for Jess.
My beautiful friend, Jess was diagnosed in 2017 with Ulcerative Colitis. This is an inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) that causes long-lasting inflammation and ulcers (sores) in your digestive tract. BUT the symptoms are honestly awful and destructive for the body and mind.
She gave birth to her little boy in 2016. She had suffered throughout the pregnancy with what we know now as the symptoms of ulcerative colitis, but it was dismissed as it was thought to be the pregnancy. After giving birth she suffered even more and the symptoms began to get worse, she lost tons of weight but was eating, her hair thinned more than normal, and her mental health took a turn for the worst. She suffered for around a year before her family made her get it checked out. She thought it was just motherhood taking its toll.
It is now under better control with treatment, but flare ups are often. I have seen the toll it has taken on her life and I want to raise awareness, so people are more aware of IBD’s and their awful symptoms. Please help me raise some money and awareness for an amazing cause!
I need to raise approx. £700 to cover my costs and donate a healthy amount to the charity.
If you want to educate yourself even more please visit crohnsandcolitis.org.uk/about-crohns-and-colitis
Much love
Luce xxx
