Our story
The Wight Aviation museum are raising funds to bring back the last surviving 3 seater Spartan II Bi-plane to the Isle of Wight. The Aircraft was built on the island in 1932 by Spartan Aircraft Ltd in Cowes. Just 6 of this aircraft type were built in total with Spartan ZK-ARH being the last one in existence.
The Spartan was lovingly restored in New Zealand by it's current owner who now has to sell the aircraft.
The Wight Aviation Museum wants to bring the aircraft home for public display and preserve this very rare aircraft for future generations to enjoy.
The funds raised will go towards the purchase of this beautiful aircraft and pay the transport costs from New Zealand to the Isle of Wight.
You can donate from just £1.00 towards this cause, any amount given would be extremely welcome. The Wight Aviation Museum are building a collection to celebrate the Isle of Wights long history in aircraft design and manufacture. The museum is a charitable company entirely staffed by volunteers.
