My 360 challenge for Blood Bikes

Event date: 14th May 2022

My story

Being the type of person that likes to help out where I can, when I started motorcycling, I also decided I'd like to volunteer as a Blood Biker. This way I get to be that helping person, while riding someone else's bike for 12 hours. I went on to pass my test, and then obtain my advanced license in between Covid lockdowns. After the second lockdown, I completed my Blood Biker assessment ride. But unfortunately due to Covid restrictions, I couldn't actually start until over half way through the following year. Since that time, I've been keen to complete as many shifts as I can get in around work and life, while ensuring I don't burn myself out. Most shifts are a full 12 hour overnight shift from 19:00 - 07:00, so it's also tiring.

Northumbria Blood Bikes, require over £5500 per month to continue their voluntary work carrying bloods, samples and even baby milk between NHS sites around the North East and the Great North Air Ambulance Service. Also meeting up with other Blood Bike groups to relay products up and down the UK. This service is supplied to the NHS completely free.

This Treasure hunt I'm taking part in is a fun Bike day out to travel the whole region covered by NBB, From Berwick to GNAAS at Teesside and inland to Hexham. Taking in some of the most scenic views and roads, where I hope the weather will allow me to get some awesome photos. Other riders will be doing the same as me, but there is a badge up for grabs, for the largest funds raised, so help me get that little pin :) and do something good in the process.
