Event date: 18th September 2020
This page is raising money for The Change Foundation
On the 18th September, a group of supporters will be tackling the Thames in double kayaks to raise money for The Change Foundation's Visually Impaired Rugby programme.
Starting in Greenwich, the kayakers will begin their 20-mile journey heading along the Thames finishing at the home of rugby in Twickenham, in just six hours!
The Kayakers will not only need to muster up all their physical strength but also their mental strength to get them to the finish line.
Who are The Change Foundation?
The Change Foundation is an award-winning London based charity that uses sport to change the lives of marginalised young people. We deliver targeted long-term interventions for the most vulnerable young people in our communities through coach mentors with lived experience, providing regular sport, personalised mentoring, and work-related opportunities.
Visually Impaired Rugby
Visually Impaired Rugby (VI Rugby) is a game that has been developed by The Change Foundation supporting Blind and Visually Impaired people to play a safe, fun and competitive form of rugby, develop new networks, enhance their confidence and get active. VI Rugby is a 7-a-side, non-contact version of the game with an adapted audible ball and is currently being played and developed Nationally and Internationally.
