Lynne Watts is raising money for Alder Trust
My story
Following on from my triathlon challenge last August 2019, I have got the running bug! I am running in the Southampton Half Marathon to raise funds for The Firgrove Centre's refurbishment. Some of the centre has not had any redecoration for 30 years and it is in desperate need. As always at Firgrove, the team of counsellors will do as much of the work as they can, but plastering is not in our skill set! We are holding our breath as to the state of the walls behind the woodchip wallpaper. We would really like to update some of our furniture too.

Sadly the half marathon didn't take place last Sunday due to the corona virus pandemic. Thankfully, through all the measures in place, we are coming through the lock down and fewer lives are being lost. We still have a long way to go. Charities across the country including The Firgrove Centre have lost out through the cancellation of events raising funds. That is why I decided to try and continue running and I will take part in the half marathon whenever it happens. Currently rescheduled for 9th August, that may still change. In the meantime, thankyou for supporting me as I keep up the miles in training.
