My story

Update: We've done it! David ran an outstanding 2:44:52 in his first ever proper race and Ulli came in at 2:02:12.

Thank you so much for your support, it means a lot to us.

In a moment of sheer madness I decided to announce in the office that I want to complete the Robin Hood Half Marathon on 30th September this year. Now I have been registered for the event, along with Ulli from Business Support, and she won't let me back out!

But seriously, after seeing a couple of clients of mine go through their personal battles with cancer I have decided to run 13 miles to support the recently opened Maggie Centre Nottingham which provides such fantastic support to people suffering from the disease and their families.

Maggie's Nottingham serves the East Midlands Cancer Network and opens its doors for anyone affected by cancer. People are welcome at the centre whenever they need support, be it from being diagnosed or during / post treatment, recurrence, end of line or in bereavement. Maggies's welcomes friends and family too as they know those who love and look after someone with cancer are just as frightened and vulnerable.

We all know someone who has battled the disease, and maybe even lost the fight, and it is important to make a difference so if you can please support this worthy cause and give as little or much as you can.

If nothing else you will ensure I have a very uncomfortable three months ahead of me whilst going from running 0 to 13 miles!

Thank you

David Ryan

Ulli's story:

This will be my second half marathon, and hopefully a slighly faster one at that. Purple trainers at the ready (yes really!) I am running this one for Maggie's to raise funds and awareness.

I have experienced first hand what impact cancer has on patients and their family and friends and the work Maggie's are doing is hugely important to all those affected so please make a donation if you can.

Thank you so much
Ulli
