Air Ambulance Week 2025 takes off across the UK from 8–14 September, with air ambulance charities delivering the powerful message:

“Every Mission Starts With You.”

Organised by Air Ambulances UK, the national charity supporting the lifesaving work of the UK’s 21 air ambulance charities, the week is dedicated to raising awareness and funds for the lifesaving pre-hospital care air ambulance crews deliver every day.

Air ambulance charities across the UK are collectively dispatched to more than 134 missions a day – that’s over 49,000 each year. Crews bring the hospital to the patient, providing advanced critical care at the scene of the most serious incidents – including road traffic collisions, cardiac arrests, falls, and medical emergencies in remote or hard-to-reach areas.

These vital services operate in partnership with the NHS but receive no day-to-day government funding, relying almost entirely on donations from the public to stay airborne. With an average mission cost of around £4,165, every donation, every fundraiser, and every show of support helps make these missions possible.
