Your purchase has been made for Morecambe Bay Guided Walk, in association with Friends of Roshni UK.

You'll receive an email confirming your purchase shortly.

Thank you for your purchase, which helps us support the young people at Roshni in Gwalior, India!

The following is the information provided by the walk organiser, The Guide Over Sands Trust. Please read it carefully!

Please be in Arnside at least 1 hour before your walk starts, support local businesses. Remember that trains get extremely busy so give yourself plenty of time.

Once in Arnside please find Jo & Michael to register your arrival, If you booked as a group then only the lead person needs to inform us of your arrival.

We will be just outside the Albion pub on the slipway. Please do not stand blocking any roads and only use toilets in businesses if you purchase something from there.
Council toilets are 30p for use and do not hold the door open for other walkers as we have had issues with the council regarding this. Everyone must pay.

You must be physically fit to walk 9 miles at ease to join our walk, if we feel you aren't able to you will not be allowed to join the walk.

All walkers must attend our safety briefing, the briefing will start at your walk time.
Please take note what your guide says as the bay is a dangerous place.

Here a reminder of what you need to do and bring with you:

Suncream

Hat

Drink

Comfortable footwear

Lunch / snacks

Simple first aid kit - Plasters / Vaseline etc

Dogs are welcome however they are your responsibility as you know your own dog, do not let your dog hassle other dogs. If your dog runs off we will not stop the walk or go to look for it, you must stay with the walk.

The day set out:

Once Michael starts his briefing all walkers are under his responsibility.

We walk along the headland of Arnside. Please take care as some areas are slippery and rocky, care must be taken at all times.

We will walk out onto the sands of Morecambe Bay where we will meet our two tractors.

Please do not put any personal belongings on the tractors they are there as emergency vehicles.

If at any time you or anyone in your group needs a rest then simply raise your arm and they will come to assist. We also have a team of at least 15 marshalls all wearing yellow to help you out on the day.

There is only one Guide and that is Kings Guide to the bay Michael Wilson, Michael wears Blue so you can easily identify him, his partner Jo is there also doing all the behind the scenes work.

Feel free to catch up with Michael at the front of the walk and chat to him along the way.

We have to move as one group across the bay so Michael will stop and start the walk. Once we reach the river Kent, all walkers are to line up along the edge. The idea is that not so many walkers walk over the same amount of sand, this prevents it from paddling up and going soft.

If you or anyone in your group get into difficulty please DO NOT STOP KEEP WALKING & LEAVE WHOEVER IS STRUGGLING MICHAEL & JO WILL ASSIST.

If you feel tIred before the river or unsure about walking into the water please get on the tractor.

Once crossed there will be a 15 to 20 minute break where you can have lunch / snacks and enjoy the sunshine! ( weather permitting )

Then it is a steady walk into Grange. No one is allowed to walk in front of the guide at any time for your own safety. Even if your train time has changed.

Dogs may be off the lead however if your dog runs off we cannot stop the walk or go to find it.

Once at the prom Jo & Michael sell certificates to raise money to keep their tractors going; they are for a minimum donation of £2.00 and payments can be made by card & cash.

This is the end of the walk and you are free to leave and make your way home , toilets are located just down the prom on the left hand side for a small fee.
