About us
Friends of Roshni UK was established in 2004 to support an amazing place called ROSHNI in India. ROSHNI is a special school/therapy centre for children and young adults with disabilities. A lot of them are affected by cerebral palsy and/or learning disabilities. ROSHNI provide educational support, physiotherapy and occupational therapy, counselling, medical support, additional care at home, and any other help that is needed by the child and their family. ROSHNI also support a growing number of disabled children attending mainstream school, by helping them find an appropriate school, and offering training and individual advice to the teachers on how to best support the child. Other projects include an Early Intervention programme based in the centre and at a local maternity hospital, a slum outreach project, and a vocational training programme for the young adults. Friends of Roshni UK support this work in many ways, including fundraising, supporting training opportunities for the staff, and training and sending skilled volunteers to further support the staff and students.

Morecambe Bay Guided Walk
Event date: Sunday 18th May
An exciting guided walk, to raise funds for Friends of Roshni UK!
Join Kings guide to the Kent Estuary Michael Wilson on the historic bay walk across the bay from Arnside to Grange.
Although the walk dates back to the era of Henry VIII and the original route was from Hest bank to Kents bank, due to the soft sand at Hest Bank therefore the route is now Arnside to Grange.
The walk from Arnside is a lovely walk with a varied terrain and is between 5.5 to 9 miles depending on the safest route.
