Ben's Berlin Marathon for DEBRA

For those that know me, they would know that I've always been the first one to get involved in a challenge. From a young age, playing sports has been a passion of mine. Having played football as a child before going on to compete in multiple events throughout my adult life for various charities, I can quite confidently say, I would be happy to turn my hand at anything for a good cause.

Therefore, having supported a DEBRA event held at the Hilton Hotel in Manchester at the beginning of July alongside my company Peninsula, I heard more from the national Butterfly Skin Charity and how it works tirelessly to support those affected by epidermolysis bullosa (EB). (Inherited EB is a group of rare and incredibly painful genetic skin conditions that cause the skin to blister and tear at the slightest touch.)

Of course, in typical 'Ben' fashion, I immediately had the drive to get involved and raise vital funds for this incredible charity so, I signed up to run the Berlin Marathon in September. However, there was a slight snag - I had never ran longer than 10k before! Now, with less than two months to go - the challenge is real!

My entire family think I'm crazy but the determination has set in - all I can say is - this is going to hurt!!
