We are bringing Westcountry rivers to life.
We do so by restoring and protecting the water environments of the region to benefit all who rely on them, while also supporting long-term water resilience.
Our work helps nature and people. The natural world we live in sustains us all as we live our lives and it is vital we take steps to care for it in return. Through catchment-wide ecosystem projects to grassroot community events, our vision is to see healthy Westcountry freshwater environments and river habitats teeming with life.
As we head towards World Rivers Day on Sunday 24 September, celebrate your Westcountry waterways as you walk, run, cycle, swim or paddle 24km (approx. 15 miles) of your favourite, or newly discovered, river location.
You can do it all in one go or spread your meander over 24 days - go with family, friends or on your own.
However you decide to enjoy your river rambles as you fundraise, your efforts will help us to keep bringing rivers to life when you take on our Bringing Rivers to You Riverside Challenge.
The more unrestricted funding we can raise, the more potential we have to develop new opportunities to restore and protect freshwater environments across Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and into Dorset.
If you take any photos or videos on your journey, we'd love to see them and hear your fundraising story. Share with us on socials using #BringingRivers2U and we'll make sure we highlight your contribution to bringing rivers to life.
Please have a fabulous, fun time as you fundraise but always act responsibly near water, let someone know where you are going, and access/exit the water where you are safe and legally able to do so.
