About us

Northampton Transport Heritage is a registered charity dedicated to preserving Northamptonshire transport history and making it accessible to the public. We currently preserve eight Northants operated or registered buses which are ex-United Counties and Northampton Corporation Transport. We host running day events and partner with local authorities and other organisations. We also take our vehicles out to schools, care homes and day centres as well as running various members-only trips throughout the year.

Bus No. 154 Maintenance & Restoration Fund

As with all older vehicles they need regular maintenance and ongoing restoration to keep them safe and presentable for the general public to use. 154 is a special vehicle in that it is one a few remaining Northern Coach Builders Ltd bodied vehicles left and certainly the only NCT version. As such it has its own place in UK transport history. It has been around 33 years since it was last restored in St James Garage and is now showing its age. We need to start the process of restoring this vehicle in order to preserve it for the nation. This includes the engine and gearbox.
