2. Who can enter?
The competition is open to UK residents aged 16 and under on the entry closing date. A parent or legal guardian aged 18 or over must submit the entry and agree to these rules on the childâs behalf.
One entry per child. Siblings may enter separately with their own pumpkins.
3. Entry and donations
Entry is free. We welcome a suggested ÂŁ3 donation per entry to support families affected by Neuroblastoma, but donating is entirely optional.
Making a donation, or the amount donated, will not affect whether an entry is accepted, its visibility or its chances of winning.
4. Your pumpkin
Entries may be carved or decorated pumpkins. The child should create the design and take part in making it. Adult assistance with cutting, tools and safety is welcome.
Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising the activity. Please use battery-operated lights when photographing illuminated pumpkins.
Entries must be suitable for a family audience. Offensive, discriminatory or inappropriate designs will not be accepted.
5. How to enter
A parent or guardian must send a private message to the Mitchellâs Miracles Facebook page containing:
⢠A clear photograph of the finished pumpkin.
⢠A handwritten card visible beside the pumpkin saying âMitchellâs Miracles Halloween 2026â.
⢠The childâs first name and age.
⢠Confirmation: âI am this childâs parent or legal guardian. I agree to the competition rules and give permission for this pumpkin photograph to be published on the charityâs Facebook page for the competition and winner announcement.â
Please photograph the pumpkin without children, addresses or other identifying details visible.
Entries must arrive by 3pm on 28th October 2026. All times are UK local time. Late or incomplete entries cannot be included.
6. Original entries only
The photograph must show the actual pumpkin created for this competition. Internet images, someone elseâs work, AI-generated images and digital changes to the pumpkinâs design are not permitted.
Basic cropping or brightness adjustments are acceptable.
We may request another photograph of the pumpkin if we need to confirm authenticity. Entries that cannot be verified, or that breach these rules, may be excluded.
7. How voting works
Accepted entries will be uploaded together to an official voting album on the Mitchellâs Miracles Facebook page. Each pumpkin will receive an entry number; childrenâs names and ages will not be published.
Voting opens at 3pm on 8th October 2026 and closes at 3pm on 28th October 2026.
Supporters vote by reacting to their favourite pumpkinâs photograph in the official album. Each Facebook account may vote for one pumpkin only. All reaction types count equally.
Reactions on shared copies, private posts or other photographs will not count. Comments and shares do not count as votes.
Please vote for the pumpkin you genuinely prefer. Buying votes, using fake accounts, automated voting or offering incentives for votes is prohibited. Where there is reasonable evidence of manipulation, we may remove affected votes or disqualify the entry.
8. Choosing the winner
The eligible pumpkin receiving the highest number of valid reactions at the voting deadline will win the âPeopleâs Favourite Pumpkinâ award.
If entries tie, a panel appointed by Mitchellâs Miracles will choose between the tied entries based on originality, creativity and overall Halloween appeal.
There will be no random draw. The organiserâs decision on eligibility and voting is final, subject to entrantsâ statutory rights.
9. The prize
One winner will receive a trophy and winnerâs certificate, posted free of charge to a UK address.
The prize is not transferable and no cash alternative is available. If the advertised prize becomes unavailable, we may substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
10. Contacting the winner
The winnerâs parent or guardian will be contacted through the Facebook conversation used to submit the entry within seven days of voting closing.
They must respond within 14 days of notification and provide a name for the certificate and a UK delivery address. If there is no response after a reminder, the prize may be offered to the next highest-scoring eligible entry.
The winning pumpkin and its entry number will be announced on our Facebook page. We will not publish the childâs name or photograph without separate permission from their parent or guardian.
We will never ask for payment or bank details to claim the prize.
11. Privacy and photograph permissions
Entry information will be used to administer the competition, verify eligibility, contact the winner and deliver the prize. It will not be used to add families to marketing lists.
By entering, the parent or guardian gives Mitchellâs Miracles permission to publish the submitted pumpkin photograph for competition voting and the winner announcement. They confirm they have the necessary rights to grant this permission.
Private entry information will be deleted within three months of prize delivery unless it is needed to resolve a dispute or meet a legal obligation. Donation records are kept separately under the charityâs usual policies.
Competition photographs may remain visible on Facebook after the competition. Parents or guardians may contact us to request removal. We cannot control copies shared independently by other Facebook users.
To withdraw an entry before voting closes, message the charityâs page. Its photograph will be removed and its votes will no longer count.
12. Changes or cancellation
We will only change, suspend or cancel the competition if circumstances beyond our reasonable control make this necessary. Any changes will be explained on our Facebook page, and entrants will be informed where possible.
