Celebrating the life of Paul Heron

Event dates: Wednesday 8th July – Wednesday 5th August

Following the passing of Paul Heron, we are grateful of any donations in his memory to the Leicester Tigers Foundation. 
 
Born on 24th January 1948 at the Leicester Royal Infirmary, Leicester Tigers was in Dad’s blood.
 
A life-long fan, he became one of the club’s first Vice Presidents at the advent of professionalism in 1995, wearing his club tie with pride. For a period of 15 years he hardly missed a game (home or away).
 
We travelled as a family to Paris & Cardiff for dazzling European wins, but were also ever present at games in less glamorous spots like Nuneaton and Orrell. 
 
Nothing made Dad happier than a win against the Saints or Bath, chanting ‘Deano’ with his fist in the air or stamping his feet on the Crumbie Terrace.
 
More importantly though, and despite his success in business, it was giving back to his City that mattered to him; something we would like to be his enduring legacy. We are hoping to recognise dad in some capacity at the Mattioli Woods Welford Road to remember his life. Supporting the community of Leicester where he grew up, feels appropriate for someone who gained so much from his City, and for whom the green, red and white holds such a special place in our family life.
