Raising for Friends of South Malling School

As many of you know, Jo O'Donoghue was Headteacher at South Malling for 17 years. Everyone who was lucky enough to meet Jo knew how dedicated she was to the children, their families and the staff in her care. As a leader, Jo was fearless, driven and exuded warmth and understanding to everyone she encountered. She had an ability to empower everyone around her, creating space for people to shine. She often spoke about our school community as a family, and today we would like to honour her memory, as a treasured member of that family. All funds raised by this years More Fun Fun Run will be used to create a new library at South Malling in Jo's name. Empowering children with the skill and joy of reading was a passion of Jo's and having a permanent and beautiful place for children to read seems a fitting memorial to the incredible and long lasting impact she had.

About us
Friends of South Malling School

The Friends are an open and friendly group of parents, teachers, extended family and members of the local community working together towards the common goals of building the school community, friendships and support networks and enriching the children's school experience.
We work hold events to help nurture and support the amazing school community and raise funds to provide those 'little extras' that help our children get even more out of school. Recent fundraisers have helped to pay for additional equipment, subscriptions, picnic benches, play equipment, school trips and our amazing outdoor area. We are fundraising to support all the activities that enrich the children's experience at South Malling Primary School.
