Raising for The Big Communitea
Event dates: –
Craig Lewis is taking on an extraordinary challenge, walking from John O’Groats to Land’s End to raise money for The Big Communitea.
Starting on 13th May, Craig will spend around 65 days crossing the country on foot.
This journey is far more than just miles walked. It represents every step Craig has taken to rebuild his life. After losing his home, family, and marriage to addiction, and battling severe mental health struggles, Craig reached a turning point in 2025. With one small but powerful step, he chose change. Since then, step by step, heel to heal, he has been walking his way back to health, stability, and hope.
That’s why this challenge carries such a powerful message: heal to heel. Every step forward is a reminder that healing isn’t instant, it’s a journey. It’s about putting one foot in front of the other, even on the hardest days, and believing that change is possible.
For Craig, this walk is deeply personal. But for us, it’s something even bigger. It shows the life-changing impact of mental health support and the power of community. It reflects everything The Big Communitea stands for a safe, supportive space where people can rebuild, reconnect, and realise they are not alone.
There are so many people like Craig people who have hit rock bottom but are trying to find their way back. With the right support, understanding, and opportunity, recovery is possible. Your donation doesn’t just support one man’s journey, it helps create many more stories of hope, healing, and second chances.
If Craig can take these steps, so can others with your help.
Please give what you can and be part of something truly meaningful.
Help us continue to heal through every heel.

⛰️💚🧡💙 Craig took on the mighty Scafell yesterday alongside the incredible team from Andy’s Man Club!
The challenge saw Craig cover an amazing 10.26km, clocking up 19,362 steps and spending 5 hours on the mountain. Every step was a reminder that no one should face their struggles alone.
Andy’s Man Club provides free peer to peer support groups for men across the UK, helping to break the stigma surrounding mental health and creating safe spaces for people to talk openly about how they are feeling.
Craig’s journey is about much more than miles walked.
It is about raising awareness, starting conversations, and showing that recovery and hope are possible, no matter how difficult the road may seem.
A huge thank you to everyone who continues to support Craig and this challenge.
Your donations help us continue our vital mental health work and support those who need it most.
Please keep sharing, supporting, and donating. Every contribution makes a difference. 💚

Some people arrive at The Big Communitea believing nobody would notice if they disappeared. They walk through the door exhausted by anxiety, grief, loneliness, addiction, debt, trauma, or simply the weight of trying to hold everything together for too long.
What meets them is not a waiting list or a closed door. It is a warm drink, a familiar face, and someone willing to say, “Sit down. Tell us what’s going on.”
Every day, through our drop in centre and mental health support line, we help people who are struggling to cope with day to day life. Sometimes the support is practical, helping somebody access housing, food, benefits, counselling, or NHS services. Sometimes it is simply being there at the exact moment somebody feels they have run out of road.
We work side by side with the NHS and other charities because no one organisation can carry the weight alone. Together, we help people find safety, stability, and hope before crisis takes hold.
But our work does not stop there. Through Mental Health First Aid, Suicide Prevention, and Safeguarding training, we help ordinary people become the person who notices, the person who asks twice if someone is okay, and sometimes, the person who helps save a life.
At The Big Communitea, we know recovery does not always begin with medicine or meetings. Sometimes it begins with somebody putting the kettle on and proving that someone still cares.
