In Memory of Trudy Rudge

Raising for The Spring Centre

Event dates:

Trudy, the beloved wife of Peter Rudge vice-chair of Trustees at The Spring Centre passed away just before Christmas.
Trudy was born some 74 years ago in Tirley and met her future husband, Peter, in 1974 when she was working as the Bank Managers Secretary at Midland Bank in Gloucester.  Married two years later and lived in Quedgeley.
Both Trudy and Peter were members of the PTA's at Field Court Infant and Junior Schools and then Severn Vale. After being a 'stay at home' mother Trudy became a Teacher's Assistant but this was cut short in 2004 when she contracted Meningitis. This was made worse as she suffered a stroke whilst in an induce coma;  miraculously she recovered.  She had a passion for reading and travelling and of course watching her three sons grow into men and in turn having three of their own children.
Trudy always followed the work done to support children, young adults with special needs care as well as their parents,  and she would be so happy to know that The Spring Centre will benefit from those who are mourning her passing.

About us

The Spring Centre

Charity number: 1035546

At The Spring Centre we provide a variety of services to children and young adults with additional needs and/or disabilities from 0 to 35 years and their families across Gloucestershire. These include after school and holiday clubs, family sessions, a day centre and community sessions with a variety of onsite and offsite activities. We have 2 well equipped kitchen-diners, a play room, a sensory room, a community room and 2 lounges to chill out as well as a play area outside, inducing a canopy providing all year round access to activities based outdoors. We use our minibuses to get to places and to organise transport from a local SEN school to our venue.
Supporting children, young people and their families is at the core of our work. Our main aim is to improve the quality of life for the child or young person as well as their family group. We offer a tailored support, to suit the need of the individual whilst focusing on building their confidence and enabling them to grow their independence.
