Raising for Carers In Hertfordshire
Event date:
On 19th September, I'll be taking on the 2 mile Serpentine Swim in Hyde Park to raise money for Carers in Hertfordshire – a charity that has been incredibly close to my heart for the past 12 years.
Working at Carers in Hertfordshire has given me the privilege of seeing first-hand the difference this charity makes every single day.
As well as working for Carers in Hertfordshire, I am also an unpaid carer so I know first-hand the challenges carers face every day. That's why this swim means so much to me.
Carers in Hertfordshire support unpaid carers of all ages who dedicate so much of their lives to looking after a family member or friend who couldn't manage without them.
Carers often put their own health, careers, finances and wellbeing on hold, and many feel isolated and overwhelmed.
Carers in Hertfordshire is there to make sure they don't have to face those challenges alone, offering advice, emotional support, practical help, breaks from caring, and someone to turn to when they need it most.
This swim is going to be a personal challenge too. I'm still recovering from a broken elbow, so training hasn't been easy, but I'm determined to make it across the finish line. Every stroke will be for the thousands of unpaid carers who show incredible strength and determination every day, often without recognition.
If you can spare anything at all, your donation will help Carers in Hertfordshire continue to be there for unpaid carers when they need support the most. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a real difference.
Thank you so much for your support – it really does mean the world.
