Making Women and Girls Safer Appeal

Raising for DFN UK

No girl or young woman should be subject to exploitation and denied her dignity and freedom.

What?

We are asking you to support women and girls at risk of exploitation and survivors: helping them overcome the barriers they face so they can realise their potential.

How?

Please support our work to:

  • Help rehabilitate women who have been exploited by providing vocational training and opportunities to start new business enterprises or secure regular work.
  • Help survivors access vital health services including treatment for sexually transmitted diseases, counselling and mental health support.
  • Enable young girls who have been impacted to secure places in our schools giving them a chance to build a better life, better protected from discrimination, harrassment or bullying.
  • Provide safe refuge to girls particularly at risk where it is not possible to make them safe in their own homes.
  • Change attitudes that girls are less valuable than boys, an economic burden, and safer if married early and raise awareness of how to report cases of girls at risk of exploitation and abuse, and the importance of not stigmatising those who have survived sexual exploitation.

Our teams live and work in the communities they serve. They are committed to driving change. Please support them in this vitally important work.
