Send Relief to Nepal Flash Flood Victims
Raising for DAI UK
Many of you have probably heard about the devastating flash flood that struck the Nepal-Tibet border this Wednesday. A glacial avalanche and landslide unleashed a torrent of water that has so far claimed the lives of over 500. Nearly 1,000 Nepali locals and foreign tourists remain missing, and there are fears of a secondary flood from waters trapped in two newly-formed mountain lakes.
Through our network of local Christian leaders, DAI has a number of close partners in Nepal—including a Nepali Christian relief organisation—who are executing relief responses.
These leaders are coordinating with Nepali churches in impacted areas and will be able to provide emergency food, safe water, medical care, and shelter to vulnerable families. The relief organisation furthermore has the capacity to conduct search and rescue missions (in coordination with government and other local actors), as well as road clearance and bridge restoration projects.
If God has put Nepal on your heart, we have an opportunity to put your gifts in the hands of trusted local Nepali leaders who can quickly and expertly provide for families who've been devastated by this crisis.
